Can AI design?
AI can write, it can code, it creates images, so surely it can put it all together? Short answer: no. Not yet….
More involved answer is: If you are OK with ‘good enough’, than maybe.
Everyone keeps reiterating that AI needs to be seen as a tool rather than the answer; in this case it really is. It can write and draw but ask it to design something and it seems to require a lot of human interference or as we used to call it: ‘design’.
Netflix used AI to auto-remaster years of old TV shows, without watching it before they broadcast it. Without the human Quality Control, it very quickly became very obviously AI.
For Design, it’s the difference between informing people and motivating them. If you are missing a cat, AI can do you a poster. If you want to advertise a brand, it’ll do you the cat poster with the brand on it.
For writing text and creating imagery, AI will save you time and money. To put it all together in a way that doesn’t look like PowerPoint still seems to take a person.
